The idea for the Rustic Country Barn was born when I decided to redecorate my house. Locating quality, American-made furniture, at a reasonable price, proved difficult. After much research and legwork, we have assembled a group of craftsmen that take extreme pride in their work. Some come from Amish or Mennonite backgrounds. Others are 2nd, 3rd, or 4th generation craftsmen building heirloom furniture the old-fashioned way.
Along our travels of seeking our furniture craftsmen, we have also discovered other craftsmen. From a family of blacksmiths (four cousins), that makes all of our wrought iron, to grandmothers who craft dolls or wreaths in their basements. We strive to provide quality hand-made products, made in the USA, many of which are one-of-a-kind.
We are located in an 1800’s barn, on the property of the original homestead, which was built in 1726. We spent the summer of 2008 renovating the milking parlor into a showroom. All the renovation work we did ourselves except for the roofing and electrical. We take pride in our work and have actually obtained a full history of the house and barn.
The interior is finished in wood paneling and heavy beams, with worn barn wood floors, which we planed and nailed down ourselves. We feel this atmosphere best displays our country furniture and home decorations. Our store features a large variety of pine and hardwood furniture specializing in barn wood.
We have farm tables, benches, hutches, bookshelves, chairs, etc. Each piece of barn wood furniture is constructed of wood with an average age of 120 years old, bringing natural distress. We also offer you the opportunity to customize your piece to truly one-of-a-kind. Available in a variety of painted, stained, or waxed finishes.
With 23 years of experience in the building and remodeling business, having operated a millwork shop making moldings, cabinets and furniture with 13 employees. With this experience it enables us to help you design, or alter a piece of furniture to fulfill that “dream piece.” |

There is a saying “when you love what you do, it’s not work.” The wood has waited for us, the least we can do is treat it right. We hope to continue to be useful when we are old and still look really, really good.
